Dutchmen caught up by Danish at Drentsche Golf & Country Club

With strong winds and low temperatures, anything could have happened today during the second round of the Tulip Golf Challenge at the Drentsche Golf & Country Club. However, there were no real surprises in today’s scores.

Things are exciting in the boys category where seven players have only four strokes between them. While Christian Gregersen from Denmark and Dutchman Sjors den Ambtman rushed to the top of the leaderboard, Jim Woudenberg (NL) and Ricardo Veldman (NL), leaders after day one, together with Marnick Modder (NL) and Henry Ost and Florian Benner from Germany are also in the mix. All to play for in the boys category!

In the girls category the battle between Anne-Sterre Den Dunnen (The Netherlands), Melissa Hentschel (Germany) and Lærke Møller-Jensen (Denmark) is looking to come to an early end with Denx Dunnen shooting a steady and consecutive 73 (+1). She now has an advantage of seven strokes. If either Hentschel or Møller-Jensen can manage to make some early birdies tomorrow, maybe they will be able to put some pressure on the leader.

‘Players are very happy with the course conditions here at the Drentsche Golf & Country club’ says Martin van der Schans, one of the tournament directors. ‘Even though we had a lot of rain last month, the greenkeeping team was able to present a challenging but fair golf course with exceptional good greens for this time of the year’.

The fourth edition of the Tulip Golf Challenge is organized by Pro Golf Events at the Drentsche Golf & Country Club and is part of the Global Junior Golf Tour and Global Junior Golf 21golfleague. Results count towards the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), NGF ranking, Junior Golf Scoreboard and European Golf Rankings.
